Access for this track is the same as for the Mount Fyffe Track. It is a well formed, 45 minute loop track in an unusual stand of forest. A very pleasant place to be when it is too hot or windy in town.You can wander through many large Hinau trees. Mahoe, Putaputaweta, Tree Fuchsia, Pidgeonwood and Broadleaf species are also present. As a contrast to this type of bush the track also passes through a stand of Kanuka. A lookout with seat along the way provides an excellent view of the flood prone Kowhai River.
